Best Crate For Havanese in The Car
If you are planning on driving with your dog a lot there are a number of different things that you need to consider. Many people do not but a dog seatbelt system in their car or use a crate in the car but this can be fairly risky and your little dog can be injured even at a moderate sudden stop.
We generally have our Havanese Dog inside her travel crate and it lives inside the car. She actually travels better inside the crate anyway, she doesn’t really like just being out in the car. We do have a seatbelt harness for her but she likes the crate more.
We actually own the crate recommended above and it is a great crate.

You can also get other products that will keep your dog out of a crate per se, and still have the secure and safe. Here is a great seatbelt leash.

Best Crate For Havanese Puppy.
If you are getting your Havanese dog from a breeder as a puppy then you will want to consider the crate that you will pick up the puppy in and the crate it will begin its life in. Many dog owners have benefitted from getting a crate that is a little oversized so that the puppy has room to move around when it is in its crate or kennel. The crate we got for Nessie was a little big for her as a puppy but she was able to grow into it and had lots of room as she was growing.

What Size is a Havanese Dog
Havanese dogs are small, and usually weigh in at around 11-13 pounds. Their height ranges from about 8 inches to nearly 11.5 inches at the shoulder.
These dogs have higher length measurements than height measurements and usually measure 18-24 inches long. Although they will be full size typically around month 8, they will take a little longer to fully mature. Their typical life span is 14-16 years.
How Long can Havanese Stay Inside a Crate?
Although it really does depend on what you are doing, like the length of your flight, it is ok to leave a Havanese dog in a crate for a moderate amount of time like 3-4 hours.
Generally speaking as a puppy you will not want to do that. As the puppy gets older it can handle more time in the crate. Usually one hour per month of age. That only works until they are about 6 months tho and then you don’t want to extend it past that.
Most vets and pros recommend having a bigger space if the amount of time is going to be longer.
