How Do I find a Reputable Breeder in my Area?
Kennel Clubs and Associations
This is a really good question and one that people need to ask. There are too many bad breeders out there, puppy mills and other gross things that we don’t even want to really talk about.
One of the first things you should do is find out if the breeder is listed with any of the kennel clubs, or associations in the area. This isn’t always a sign of a reputable breeder but it is a good starting point. Sometimes people don’t like associations because the association believes something contrary to the beliefs of the breeder, like boxers and ears. This is something that you will need to research and find out for your self.
Just because they are an association, doesn’t mean that they are right.
